Ribera del Duero

Challenging the great Spanish wine region of Rioja is the countryside of Ribera del Duero that sits by the River Duero in the northern plateau of Castile and Leon, Spain. Geographically flat and rocky terrain, this town is centered on its viticulture. Winemaking was introduced in the 12th century and their unique method goes back to more than 2,000 years. Ribera del Duero wasn’t recognized until 1982 as its own region. Today, 170 wineries across more than 18,000 hectares of vines produce its renowned wines.
